Biography
Georgia Maxwell is a freelance makeup artist living and working in Scotland.
Maxwell has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the fashion and beauty industry primarily gained from her time studying fashion at Heriot-Watt University’s School of Textiles and Design; dubbed by the late Dame Vivienne Westwood as the best in the whole of the British Isles.
It was during her time studying that she began working in makeup as she fully embraced her role as the go-to makeup artist for all occurring shoots after her fellow design and communications classmates caught wind of her talent, enthusiasm and skill for makeup application.
After years of honing those skills and perfecting her craft and leaving university, she began hitting her stride as a freelance makeup artist.
Maxwell’s work has been appreciated worldwide as she has accumulated editorial credits in publications such as HAUS and GNI Magazine.
Her unique artistry and vision have been sought after by high-profile clients including star DJ Lady Lloyd and Pop Punk Princess Girli.
She has proven herself to be capable of adapting to the many varying demands of the industry as her work has been featured in print, advertisement and music videos.
Maxwell was most recently recognised for her incredible talent as she became the proud recipient of The John Byrne Award 2023. A prestigious award namesake to one of Scotland’s most beloved and accomplished living artists.
Maxwell is well respected for her boundless creativity paired with impeccable skill and expertise. Her background in fashion as well as a rich knowledge of art, history and culture more broadly makes her a rolodex of references which she pulls from to create new and awe-inspiring looks and images. She is an all-round creative force to be reckoned with.
